Flying with Baby take two (and three)

After five wonderful and long weeks we are finally home sweet home and it feels so good! We had such an amazing time with Gauravs family, they got to bond so much with Sim and we really enjoyed our time in India. We were also able to spend 5 days with some of our best friends in Dubai, who have a son that is 15 days older than Sim. Watching the babies interact and “talk” to each other made for some great entertainment. The worst part about G and my relationship is that our families are so far apart, so … Continue reading Flying with Baby take two (and three)

First flight with baby!

Hello all! It has been a while since I have written anything, there always seems to be something else to prioritize over blogging during the precious minutes of Sims sleep time. We had been planning a trip to India since the beginning of thr year, and when we decided that I would stay home with Sim for the time being and not go back to work, we thought it would be nice if Sim and I could spend a little more time with his family. So we booked a flight for Sim and me 2 weeks before my husband so … Continue reading First flight with baby!

The basement and its water woes..

My childhood home only had a crawl space, so my experience with basements was limited and I was excited to see the space potential that our new house had with its unfinished basement. Well we have had many mishaps with all things underground in our house and over the last two years we have mainly made sure that it was water tight. Through this we discovered a lot of things about our house! As you can see in the pictures below, it is a great space, behind the wall with the windows is a smaller space that has the water heater, boiler, washer, dryer and sink. … Continue reading The basement and its water woes..

Master Bedroom

So the master bedroom in our house had an interesting color scheme, there was a teal wall color and a royal blue carpet, and we definitely knew that we wanted to make some changes. As you can see from the pictures below, the room is big but with an odd shape. The first thing to go was the carpet. The fun part was ripping the carpet up! As is often the case, destroying something is easier than creating something (insert deep philosophical thought here).  We used a box cutter to cut the carpet into manageable sizes, rolled these portions up … Continue reading Master Bedroom

Leftover mashed potatoes..

So Monday I made mashed potatoes, green beans and chicken. Everything was going well until I used the wrong side of the pepper dispenser, resulting in WAY too much pepper in the mashed potatoes. I served them anyway and my lovely husband ate them without a comment, thankfully he is used to eating spiced food! I could not put him through that again so I had to come up with a way to use the pepper, I mean the mashed potatoes. Here is a photo of the unappetizing potatoes. After searching the good old internet I decided to make potato … Continue reading Leftover mashed potatoes..

Rejuvenating Rugs

Okay so I am going to be honest with you.   The house is a mess because I have started about 3 different projects and definitely shouldn’t have started any more but of course today was the day that I would try to rejuvenate some matted rugs I had lying around.  With Sim in her walker I grabbed the first rug I saw and got to work. I had read something on Pinterest that I was interested in trying out, all I needed was a dog brush and dog hair de-tangling spray. Well I didn’t have the spray so I … Continue reading Rejuvenating Rugs

New House, New Projects!

PART 1 My father has his own wallpapering and painting business, but his skills extend far beyond that, he has done almost everything himself in the house I grew up in; electrical work, plumbing and construction etc.  So growing up I definitely wanted to find a man that would be as handy as my dad was. Well thankfully the man I married has that handy man instinct.  He loves to be able to do everything himself, and when we bought our first home in January 2014, we realized that we both really enjoyed taking on different projects and renovations together. … Continue reading New House, New Projects!

My life, My Story

I can say right now that I am not sure how this blogging thing is going to work out, but I am cautiously optimistic that my writing skills aren’t terrible and that my blogs might be at least entertaining.  I feel that there are so many things that I would love to share. I know that I enjoy reading other people’s blogs and learning about their life and I hope some might like to read mine. So here goes nothing…I am your average American girl, I was raised in a christian home in Central Jersey (woot woot!) I am the … Continue reading My life, My Story
